There are many advantages in using the CCTV surveillance. It is used to observe an area or to record down what is happening at that time, at that place. And the recorded videos can be used as evidence to the people who have broken the law and one main example of people who broken the law are thieves. The recorded video could also could help the police solve crimes much easier.


Installation of these CCTVS in public places also helps to lower the crime rates in Singapore as thieves and robbers will notice these these CCTVS and probably will know that if they are to steal something, their chances of getting caught is very high as the CCTV is able to take down whatever he/she is doing so thieves and robbers will think twice on breaking the law and thus will reduce the crime rate in Singapore. So, many people started to install CCTV surveillance in shops and shopping malls so that they would be able to find any culprit that had broken the law.

The Disadvantage of CCTV surveillance is that it uses power and a memory card to record all that is happening. So you could say that if many people uses it, it will use up a lot of electricity and thus, increasing the rate of global warming.

I think Singapore should step up on CCTV surveillance as the crime rate is rising. To reduce the crime rates, Singaporeans have no choice but to install CCTVs around the crowded areas so that theives and robbers would not dare to steal again as all their actions will be taken down and if they are caught they will have nothing left to say.
